CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 4, 2014) – Felicia Hall Allen & Associates announced the speakers roster for their Assistant Basketball Coaches Symposium, A Step Up (Athletic Symposium to Elevate & Uplift Professionals).The Symposium, to be conducted May 2 – 4, in Fort Lauderdale and is expected to bring together hundreds of assistant basketball coaches, as well as current and former head coaches and athletic administrators from all divisions of basketball around the country.
The speakers’ roster includes coaches from several Division I top 25 programs, one of the most respected Division II coaches in the country, an NCAA Official who has coached in both the NBA and WNBA, and basketball legends.
A Step Up Fort Lauderdale 2014 Speakers Include Assistant and Associate Head Coaches: Lisa Boyer (South Carolina), Al Brown (Duke), Kelly Bond (Texas A&M), Tia Jackson (Rutgers), Travis Mays (Texas), Robert Mosley (Georgia), Katie O’Connor (Kansas), Sean O’Reagan (James Madison), Bob Starkey (Texas A&M) and Maren Walseth (Penn State). Head Coaches include: Katie Abrahamson-Henderson (Albany), LeAnn Freeland (Nova Southeastern) and Joe Tartamella (St. John’s). Making special appearances are Dee Kantner (NCAA Official and WNBA Supervisor of Officials); and Basketball Legends: Mike Flynn (Blue Star) and Boo Williams (Boo Williams Basketball).

About the Symposium
A Step Up (Athletic Symposium to Elevate Professionals & Uplift Performance) is a career building and professional development opportunity for assistant basketball coaches, developed by the husband and wife team of Johnny and Felicia Allen. Its’ mission is to help assistant coaches gain knowledge, discover coaching insights and develop strategies, techniques and tactics to help them reach their full coaching potential. Each year Felicia Hall Allen & Associates chooses a different city to host the symposium. The inaugural symposium was held in Atlanta, Georgia in 2010. The event moved to Chicago last year and adopted the name – A Step Up (Athletic Symposium to Elevate Professionals & Uplift Performance).
